Once upon a time, a long time ago...
In 1983, the two Sarno brothers from Rome opened "Sprachcaffe Languages Plus". Their slogan:
"Learn languages and meet people!"
The brothers originally gave language lessons to finance their studies and later taught at various language schools. The idea of offering language holidays themselves arose from their own experiences of teaching Italian in Germany and organising trips to Calabria. They quickly realised that language travel was an ideal way to learn languages locally and experience new cultures at the same time.
The concept particularly appealed to students who were enthusiastic about a new, communicative way of learning languages. The success was not long in coming: Other language schools joined in and Sprachcaffe soon established itself as a leading provider of language holidays.
Today, after more than 30 years, Sprachcaffe has grown into an international company that enables thousands of pupils, students and professionals to study abroad every year. In addition to the traditional language courses, Sprachcaffe has also been offering trips to Cuba and Mexico since 2001 and is continuously expanding its range to include active holidays, hiking trips and many other adventures!
The name "Sprachcaffe" perfectly epitomises our concept: learning languages in a relaxed atmosphere in the country of origin - like in a "caffé linguístico". With the combination of the German "Sprach" and the Italian "caffè", we symbolise the communicative and inviting learning environment that we cultivate in our language schools and on our trips worldwide.
