Join us on a 9-day bike tour through the Yucatán Peninsula, starting in Playa del Carmen and exploring Cozumel by bike. Visit the impressive ruins of Chichén Itzá, refresh yourself in a cenote and cycle through the lively streets of Merida. The tour continues with coastal rides, seafood and a visit to the stunning pink lagoons of Las Coloradas. End your adventure in the tranquil surroundings of Tulum, where history, culture and nature come together in a unique way.

Day 1: Playa del Carmen

Arrival in Playa del Carmen and check-in at the hotel. Playa del Carmen, located on the northeast coast of the Yucatán Peninsula, is known for its coral reefs and palm-fringed beaches. In the evening, you will meet your tour guide at 7:30 pm for a welcome meeting, followed by an optional dinner together. There are no further activities planned for today, so you can arrive at any time. Free transfer from the airport to the hotel.

Day 2: Cozumel

In the morning, take the ferry to the island of Cozumel, known for its clear waters and vibrant marine life. Upon arrival, you will familiarize yourself with your bike and make adjustments if necessary. The bike tour begins with a 15 km ride on paved roads that cross the island from west to east, with a stop for fresh coconut water at a beach bar. Continue along the coast until you reach the Bob Marley Bar, where you can relax in hammocks and swim. Return to the ferry port by vehicle, with optional additional cycling if time permits.

Day 3: Chichén Itzá - Merida

Leave Playa del Carmen early in the morning and drive inland to Chichén Itzá (2 hours). Discover the important archaeological sites with a local guide. Then continue to the Yokdzonot cenote for a refreshing swim and lunch (not included). Finally, you will drive to Merida (1.5 hours) and take a 10 km bike tour through the town.

Day 4: Dzilam de Bravo - San Crisanto - Merida

Start the day with a ride to Dzilam de Bravo (1.5 hours), with a stop at Dzilam Gonzalez to see an unrestored archaeological site. Cycle along the northern coast of the Yucatán, past small fishing villages, until you reach the palm-fringed beach of San Crisanto. Enjoy a seafood lunch and learn how to prepare local drinks such as michelada and chelada. Return to Merida by bus and later experience a traditional taquisa (taco party) in a local house or restaurant.

Day 5: Ake - Izamal - Valladolid

Say goodbye to Merida and set off early for Tixpehual, where today's cycle tour begins. Ride through villages to Ake and then to Izamal. This colonial town, founded on an important Mayan ceremonial site, has a Franciscan monastery from the 16th century. Explore the site and enjoy a lunch of local dishes such as salbutes and panuchos. In the afternoon, visit local craft workshops before heading to Valladolid (1.5 hours) for a two-day stay.

Day 6: Río Lagartos - Valladolid

Leave the hotel early and drive to Rio Lagartos (2 hours) to start your ride. Cycle to the pink lagoons of Las Coloradas, where locals extract sea salt. The colors of the lagoons come from certain algae that also attract flamingos and spoonbills. Enjoy a swim at a secluded beach and a seafood lunch in Rio Lagartos (not included). Take a boat tour to observe the local birdlife, followed by a tequila tasting, before returning to Valladolid.

Day 7: Xiulub - Cobá - Tulum

Ride to the village of Xiulub (1 hour) and cycle through remote roads to the Mayan ruins of Cobá. Explore the site, which is home to one of the highest Mayan temples in the region. After lunch (not included), continue by bus to Tulum.

Day 8: Tulum - Playa del Carmen

After breakfast, visit the Tulum ruins with a local guide. In the afternoon, return to Playa del Carmen and check-in at the hotel. The afternoon is at leisure.

The trip ends after breakfast at the hotel. There are no activities planned, so you can leave at any time.
